BMW Unveils Fourth-Gen X3 at Auto Expo 2025, Starting at ₹75.80 Lakh

BMW India has officially launched the fourth-generation X3 SUV at the Auto Expo 2025, with prices beginning at ₹75.80 lakh for the 20 xDrive petrol model and peaking at ₹77.80 lakh for the 20d xDrive diesel variant. Bookings for the latest X3 are now open, with deliveries slated to start in April 2025.

Powertrain and Performance

The all-new X3 offers a choice between mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines. Both are 2.0-liter, four-cylinder units paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The petrol-powered X3 20 xDrive delivers 190hp and 310Nm of torque, while the diesel variant, the X3 20d xDrive, produces 197hp and 400Nm of torque.

Redesigned Dimensions and Exterior

The fourth-gen X3 showcases BMW’s latest design philosophy, inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept. It measures 4,755mm in length (34mm longer) and 1,920mm in width (29mm wider) but stands slightly lower at 1,660mm in height. Despite its refreshed dimensions, the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,865mm.

Notable design updates include a larger illuminated kidney grille with diagonal and horizontal slats, slimmer LED headlights, and wide, pronounced wheel arches for a rugged appeal. Unlike its predecessor, the new X3 forgoes plastic body cladding, focusing instead on clean lines and a contemporary look, complemented by reimagined alloy wheel designs.

Premium Interiors and Advanced Features

Inside, the fourth-gen X3 boasts a dual-screen setup, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 14.9-inch digital driver display running the latest iDrive 9 software. The dashboard features new meshed fabric accents, while newly designed heated sport seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel enhance the cabin’s sporty character.

Standard features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, ventilated power-adjustable front seats, park assist, and a reclining rear bench.

Market Position and Competition

The 2025 BMW X3 takes on competitors like the Mercedes-Benz GLC (₹76.80-77.80 lakh), Volvo XC60 (₹69.90 lakh), and Audi Q5 (₹66.98-73.79 lakh), making it a compelling option in the luxury mid-size SUV segment.

With its striking design, upgraded technology, and performance-focused engine options, the new BMW X3 is set to make a strong impression on the Indian market.
