2025 BMW R 18 Lineup Unveiled: More Power, Features & Blacked-Out Styling

BMW Motorrad has refreshed its R 18 cruiser lineup for 2025, introducing several upgrades, a sleeker blacked-out aesthetic, a redesigned exhaust system, and a slight torque boost. The iconic 1802cc boxer twin engine now meets Euro 5+ emission norms while maintaining its signature shaft-drive system.

What’s New in the 2025 BMW R 18 Series?

The R 18 lineup continues to be powered by BMW’s largest boxer twin engine, displacing 1802cc and now delivering 91hp and 163Nm of torque—5Nm more than its predecessor.

Each model in the lineup gets unique updates:

  • R 18 Standard: Gains new front and rear fenders, an updated wheel design, an 18-inch rear wheel (with the previous 19-inch front and 16-inch rear setup available as an accessory), a refreshed exhaust system, improved suspension for better comfort, a Type-C charging port, and standard DRLs.
  • R 18 Classic: Now features a new front mudguard, an upgraded 19-inch spoke front wheel (previously 16-inch), a front DRL, a Type-C charging port, and a new blacked-out variant.
  • R 18 B, R 18 Transcontinental & R 18 Roctane: These models already sport blacked-out design elements, including cylinder head covers, airbox covers, headlight trim, exhausts, and badges. The 2025 update introduces a favorite button for the 10.25-inch TFT display and a striking two-tone red metallic paint option.

Enhanced Comfort & Customization

BMW has introduced an optional Comfort Package, adding cruise control (exclusive to the R 18 Standard), heated grips, hill-start assist, and a lockable fuel filler cap—features not available in previous models.

India Launch & Pricing

The first R 18 First Edition debuted in 2021, and currently, only the R 18 Transcontinental is available in India at ₹32.5 lakh (ex-showroom), competing with the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special. The launch timeline for the 2025 R 18 lineup in India is yet to be confirmed.
