Yamaha Slashes Bike and Scooter Prices After GST Cut: R15M, MT-15, Aerox and More Get Cheaper

Yamaha Slashes Bike and Scooter Prices After GST Cut

Yamaha Motor India has officially announced price reductions across its entire two-wheeler lineup, effective September 22, 2025, following the government’s recent GST rate revision. The GST on motorcycles under 350cc has been slashed from 28% to 18%, and Yamaha is passing on the complete benefit to its customers.

Key Highlights

Yamaha’s Advantage in GST 2.0

Unlike several rivals with larger-capacity bikes, Yamaha’s portfolio in India is entirely made up of models under 350cc. This means every Yamaha motorcycle and scooter benefits from the reduced GST slab, while premium bikes above 350cc from other brands now face a steeper 40% GST rate.

What This Means for Buyers

With the festive season around the corner, Yamaha’s price cuts make its popular models like the R15M, MT-15, FZ series, and Aerox 155 even more attractive. Entry-level scooters such as the RayZR and Fascino also get meaningful reductions, further strengthening Yamaha’s value-for-money proposition in India.

The move brings Yamaha in line with other manufacturers such as Bajaj Auto and Classic Legends, who have also passed on GST benefits. However, Yamaha enjoys the unique edge of zero exposure to the 40% GST bracket, making this a clear win for prospective buyers.
