Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially confirmed its participation in the upcoming Auto Expo 2025, where it plans to unveil its two highly-anticipated electric SUVs, the VF 7 and VF 9. These e-SUVs are expected to showcase the brand’s commitment to cutting-edge design and advanced EV technology.
VinFast VF 7: A Stylish and Versatile Electric SUV
The VF 7 is a compact, five-seat electric SUV positioned as a rival to models like the Hyundai Tucson. Its sleek, coupe-inspired silhouette features distinctive V-shaped LED light motifs at both the front and rear, reflecting VinFast’s signature design language.
Globally, the VF 7 is available in two variants: Eco and Plus. Both are equipped with a 75.3kWh battery pack but differ in performance:
- Eco: A single front-mounted motor delivering 204hp and 310Nm of torque.
- Plus: A dual-motor AWD setup with a combined output of 354hp and 500Nm of torque.
The WLTP-certified range is 450km for the Eco variant and 431km for the Plus. Other key differences include alloy wheel sizes (19-inch for Eco, 20- and 21-inch for Plus) and infotainment screen dimensions (12.9-inch in Eco vs. 15-inch in Plus). Both trims come with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as standard.
VinFast VF 9: A Spacious and Luxurious Family SUV
The VF 9, VinFast’s flagship SUV, is a three-row vehicle designed to offer luxury and practicality for families. Larger than the Audi Q7, it comes in six- and seven-seat configurations.
Both VF 9 variants – Eco and Plus – feature a 123kWh battery pack, providing a WLTP-certified range of up to 531km. The dual-motor AWD setup produces 408hp and 620Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100kph time of 6.6 seconds for the Eco and 6.7 seconds for the Plus.
Key features include:
- Eco: 20-inch alloy wheels and a focus on functionality.
- Plus: 21-inch alloy wheels, powered and ventilated seats with massage functions, an 8-inch rear infotainment screen, a panoramic sunroof, and a 13-speaker audio system with a subwoofer.
VinFast’s India Aspirations
VinFast is making significant strides in India, including the construction of its manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, which commenced in February last year. The company has also appointed Zac Hollis, former Skoda India director, as its Asia head.
Details about the Indian specifications of the VF 7 and VF 9, along with VinFast’s broader plans for the market, are expected to be announced soon. With its bold designs and strong performance credentials, VinFast aims to make a lasting impression at Auto Expo 2025.
