Even though many new sedans are coming out, there won’t be many new hatchbacks. This year, many sedans came out, including the Skoda Slavia, the Volkswagen Virtus, and the Honda City hybrid.
But 2023 is right around the corner, and many new sedans, from high-end luxury cars like the BMW 7 Series to cheaper ones like the Hyundai Verna and Aura, will be coming out over the next year. Here’s a list of all the new models that are coming out.
New BMW 7 Series
The latest version of BMW’s flagship sedan has a bold look on the outside. This is because of what customers in China and Japan said about the car. BMW got rid of the double-barrel headlights and went with a more modern design with split headlights and a bigger version of its signature kidney grilles.
Even though the outside of the new 7 Series is very different, it’s the inside that stands out. The dashboard has a full-width light band that sits below a 14.9-inch touchscreen for entertainment and a 12.3-inch display for the car’s instruments.
Back seat passengers will also have the option of a vast 31.3-inch, 8k “cinema” screen that folds down from the roof and has video streaming services. Both backseat passengers also get 5.5-inch touchscreens in their doors. These can be used to control the infotainment system, climate control, seats, and more.
India will get the 3.0-liter diesel (730d) with 299 hp, the 3.0-liter gasoline (740i) with 380 hp, and the 4.4-liter gasoline V8 with 543 hp (M760i). All of these come standard with a 48V mild hybrid system and all-wheel drive. The i7, an all-electric version, will also come out at the same time. Notably, the longer wheelbase will be standard on all of the models.
Starting in early 2023
Engines: 3.0-litre P, 4.4-litre P, 3.0-litre D

Facelift For The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Hatchback
The Grand i10 Nios is expected to get a facelift soon. It will probably keep the existing 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes 83hp and 114Nm of torque, and the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, which produces 100hp and 172Nm of torque. It will also have a CNG powertrain with a 1.2-liter engine that makes 69hp and 95.2Nm of torque.
The new Grand i10 will have LED Daytime Running Lamps in the shape of a boomerang, instead of on the grill. This is part of Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design language.
The alloy wheels and fog light housing in the front bumper could get a new look. It could also have a new theme for the upholstery and inside. Once it comes out, the Maruti Suzuki Swift will be its only direct competitor.

Hyundai Aura Sedan Facelift
The Hyundai Aura, a small sedan based on the Grand i10 Nios hatchback, is likely to get a makeover. The old model just got rid of its diesel engine, so the new one will likely still have gasoline, turbo-petrol, and CNG engines.
The facelift may use Hyundai’s “Sensuous Sportiness” design language and is likely to get similar design updates as the Grand i10 Nios.
Late 2023
Engines: 1.2-litre P, 1.0-litre P
Price range: Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh
New Hyundai Verna
The next version of the Verna, which has the code name BN7, will be designed in Hyundai’s “Sensuous Sportiness” style and could have split headlights. Due to new RDE rules, the diesel engine will not be available for the Verna. Instead, it will have the petrol engine that is already available.
Along with the 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine from the Creta, it could also get a mild hybrid system with automatic start/stop and regeneration. This is because both the Slavia and the Virtus have 1.5-liter turbo petrol engines.
From the Tucson, the Verna will also get Hyundai’s ADAS technology, which will make it the first midsize car to have it. It will also be much bigger than it was before, which will help make room in the back.
Coming: April 2023
Engines: 1.5-litre P
Price range: Rs 10 million to Rs 16 million

The Volvo S60’s exterior has been slightly updated with a facelift. The air intake in the bumper has been slightly changed, and there are new alloy wheels and a new rear apron with hidden exhaust pipes.
The most significant change on the inside is the new Android-based infotainment system, which is available on other Volvo models and brings apps like Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store to the S60.
Even though Volvo offers diesel mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains in other countries, the S60 sold in India will likely only have a petrol mild-hybrid powertrain.
The old car had a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 190 horsepower, and the new one will have a mild-hybrid version of the same machine, like the XC40.
