Ultraviolette Tesseract Electric Scooter: A Closer Look at Pricing

Ultraviolette Tesseract Electric Scooter

Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has made waves with the launch of its futuristic electric scooter, the Tesseract. Priced at an introductory Rs 1,20,000 for the first 10,000 customers, the announcement generated considerable buzz. However, there’s more to the pricing structure than meets the eye, as the base price applies only to the entry-level variant. Let’s break it down.

Breaking Down the Variants and Pricing

The Ultraviolette Tesseract comes in three versions, each differentiated by battery capacity: Tesseract 3.5, Tesseract 5, and Tesseract 6. The base model (Tesseract 3.5) starts at Rs 1,20,000 for early buyers, rising to Rs 1,30,000 for the next 50,000 customers and Rs 1,45,000 thereafter. Given the large number of units available at these introductory rates, this pricing strategy is expected to sustain interest for several months.

While the exact pricing for the Tesseract 5 and Tesseract 6 remains undisclosed, estimates suggest they will cost around Rs 1.7 lakh and Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Detailed specifications and final pricing for these variants will only be revealed in Q4 2025. Those who pre-book will receive priority delivery.

Battery, Range & Performance

Premium Features Reserved for Higher Variants

Many of the futuristic features showcased at launch—including radar-based safety tech, integrated dashcams, smart mirrors with blind spot detection, lane change assist, and collision alerts—are likely to be available only on the higher-end variants. Some features, such as haptic feedback on the handlebar, could even be offered as optional add-ons.

Things to Consider Before Booking

Pre-bookings for the Tesseract are now open for Rs 999, with deliveries expected in early 2026. However, if you’re eyeing the most advanced features, you may need to wait until the pricing and availability of the higher-end models are confirmed later this year.

The Tesseract is poised to shake up the electric scooter market with its blend of innovation and aggressive pricing. Even the base variant competes favorably against the Ather 450X in terms of range while undercutting it on price. However, Ultraviolette will need to expand its sales and service network to match industry leaders. If you’re considering a purchase, it’s advisable to check out the different variants in person and assess the features before making a decision.
