Triumph has introduced a new top-tier variant of its 400cc scrambler lineup — the Scrambler 400 XC, priced at ₹2.94 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model sits above the Scrambler 400 X and commands a premium of ₹27,000, bringing several upgrades in design and equipment.
What’s New on the Scrambler 400 XC?
While the XC shares its core mechanicals with the Scrambler 400 X — including the same 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine and chassis — it gains some distinctive hardware and cosmetic enhancements. The key highlight is the cross-spoke wheels, which allow for tubeless tyres — a significant upgrade over the alloy wheels on the 400 X.
In addition to that, Triumph has equipped the XC with added protective elements like an aluminium sump guard and engine guard, making it more adventure-ready. There’s also a high-mounted, body-coloured front fender, a body-coloured flyscreen, and the same grab rails as the Speed 400.
Despite its rugged upgrade, the India-spec XC continues to run on MRF Zapper Kurve tyres. The bike is also marginally heavier than the standard Scrambler 400 X — weighing about 5kg more.
Colour Options and Rivals
The Scrambler 400 XC is available in three new colour schemes, giving buyers more choice in styling. Positioned just under the ₹3 lakh mark, it competes with bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure X.
This new variant will be sold alongside the existing Scrambler 400 X and Speed 400, further strengthening Triumph’s entry-level portfolio in India.
