Toyota Innova Crysta vs. Hycross: Which Is Better for Your Wallet?

The full price list for the Toyota Innova Crysta has finally been released after a two-month wait, revealing two distinct types of the Innova: the Crysta and the Hycross. To determine which model best suits your budget, consider the following information:

Innova Crysta Innova Hycross
GX 7-seater/ 8-seater – Rs 19.40 lakh/ Rs 19.45 lakh
GX 7-seater/8-seater – Rs 19.99 lakh
VX 7-seater/ 8-seater – Rs 23.79 lakh/ Rs 23.84 lakh
ZX 7-seater – Rs 25.43 lakh VX Hybrid 7-seater/ 8-seater – Rs 25.03 lakh/ Rs 25.08 lakh
VX (O) Hybrid 7-seater/ 8-seater – Rs 27 lakh/ Rs 27.05 lakh
ZX Hybrid – Rs 29.35 lakh
ZX (O) Hybrid – Rs 29.99 lakh

The diesel-only Crysta is pricier than the gasoline-powered Hycross CVT models. However, the hybrid versions of both models are more expensive, and the most expensive Crysta is similar in price to the least expensive Hycross.

The new Innova Crysta is available in three main styles for private buyers. In contrast, private owners have five Innova Hycross trim levels to choose from, including regular and hybrid models of the MPV.

Although both models bear the “Innova” nameplate and feature an MPV body style, they differ in several ways. The Innova Crysta retains its ladder-frame design with rear-wheel drive (RWD), while the Innova Hycross has a monocoque basis with front-wheel drive (FWD).

Toyota offers the Innova Crysta with a diesel engine and manual transmission, while the Hycross is available only with a gasoline engine and comes in regular and electric versions.

Regular Hycross trims come with a CVT, and hybrid trims come with an e-CVT, offering an economy of 21.1kmpl.

The top version of the previous-generation Innova still boasts several high-end features, including a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-inch touchscreen entertainment system, and leatherette seats.

For a more modern and luxurious Innova, the Hycross is the better choice. Compared to the Crysta, it offers a more upscale cabin and a longer list of features, including a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver aid systems (ADAS).
