Tata Motors Gears Up for Auto Expo 2025 with an Exciting Line-Up of EVs and Green Technology

Tata Motors is set to make a significant impact at the Auto Expo 2025 with one of the most expansive displays at the event. The spotlight will be on their electric vehicle (EV) portfolio, but the company also plans to showcase innovations in other eco-friendly technologies, including flex-fuel and CNG-powered models. Alongside production-ready vehicles, Tata will unveil special editions and cutting-edge concepts, promising an exciting glimpse into the future of mobility. Here’s what to watch out for:

Tata Harrier EV

A standout highlight of Tata’s pavilion will be the much-anticipated Harrier EV. First unveiled in its concept form at earlier expos, the production-spec Harrier EV is expected to make its grand debut. This all-electric SUV is likely to feature a 60kWh battery, offering an impressive range of approximately 500 km. Significantly, it will also be Tata’s first EV to feature an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, powered by electric motors on both axles.

Visually, the Harrier EV retains much of the ICE-powered Harrier’s rugged design, with distinct EV-specific elements. While the interior remains under wraps, it is expected to draw inspiration from both the Harrier and the Curvv EV. Pricing for the Harrier EV is anticipated to be revealed by March 2025.

Tata Sierra EV

The iconic Sierra nameplate makes a comeback, reimagined as an electric SUV. Having undergone multiple design iterations over the years, the Sierra EV is expected to appear in its most production-ready form yet. Paying homage to the original Sierra of the 1990s, the concept retains signature design elements such as the wraparound rear-side windows, squared-off wheel arches, and elevated bonnet.

Built on Tata’s Acti.ev platform, the Sierra will likely offer multiple powertrain options, including electric, petrol, and diesel variants. An AWD configuration with dual motors is also on the cards for the EV version. Configurations may include a standard 5-seater and a luxurious 4-seater lounge variant, catering to diverse preferences.

Tata Avinya Concept

Tata’s Avinya Concept heralds a new era for the brand’s premium EV lineup. Originally unveiled in 2022, the Avinya represents a family of futuristic electric vehicles rather than a single model. While details remain scarce, the Auto Expo 2025 might provide a preview of the first production model inspired by the concept. Expect cutting-edge design and innovative technologies aimed at redefining electric mobility in the premium segment.

Special Editions and Alternative Fuel Models

In addition to its EV showcase, Tata Motors will reveal special editions of its current models. Reports suggest two electric and one ICE vehicle could debut in a new edition, akin to the Kaziranga Edition introduced in 2022.

The carmaker will also highlight its commitment to alternative fuels by displaying a flex-fuel version of the Nexon or Punch SUV. The updated Tiago, Tiago EV, and Tata’s existing CNG range will also be present, offering a comprehensive look at the brand’s eco-friendly advancements.

Tata Motors’ Auto Expo 2025 display promises an exciting mix of innovation, nostalgia, and sustainability, reaffirming its position as a leader in India’s green mobility revolution.
