Tata Curvv and Curvv EV Secure 5-Star BNCAP

Tata Motors’ Curvv coupe-SUV has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP (BNCAP), following comprehensive crash testing for both its internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric (EV) versions. While both variants achieved top-tier safety ratings, their scores for adult and child occupant protection slightly differ.

Tata Curvv ICE Scores Breakdown:
BNCAP tested the diesel-powered Accomplished + A variant of the Tata Curvv. For adult occupant protection (AOP), it achieved a score of 29.50 out of 32. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, conducted at 64kph, the Curvv ICE earned 14.65 out of 16 points. In the side moveable deformable barrier test, it scored 14.85 out of 16 points.

For child occupant protection (COP), the Curvv ICE secured 43.66 points out of 49, with a dynamic test score of 22.66 out of 24, a perfect 12 out of 12 in CRS (Child Restraint System) installation, and 9.0 out of 13 in vehicle assessment. These scores apply to the entire ICE lineup of the Tata Curvv.

Tata Curvv EV Scores Breakdown:
BNCAP tested the Empowered + A variant of the Curvv EV, equipped with a 55kWh battery. The electric model outperformed its ICE counterpart in AOP, with a score of 30.81 out of 32. It achieved 15.66 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 15.15 out of 16 in the side moveable deformable barrier test.

In terms of child occupant protection, the Curvv EV scored 44.83 out of 49. It earned an impressive 23.83 out of 24 in the dynamic tests, along with a perfect 12 out of 12 in CRS installation and 9.0 out of 13 in vehicle assessment. These ratings cover the entire Curvv EV lineup, which includes models with either a 45kWh or 55kWh battery pack.

Both the ICE and EV versions of the Tata Curvv showcase the brand’s commitment to safety, delivering top-notch protection for both adult and child occupants.
