Skoda Octavia RS to Hit Indian Roads in November 2025

Performance enthusiasts in India can finally mark their calendars — the Skoda Octavia RS is officially set for a November 2025 launch. Earlier this year, Skoda India brand director Ashish Gupta had hinted that the RS would make its way to our market, but the exact timeline has now been firmed up.

Limited Numbers for India

Like its predecessor, the upcoming Octavia RS will be offered in restricted numbers. Industry sources suggest only about 200 units will be allocated for India, similar to the Octavia RS 245 that was sold here in limited batches.

Powertrain and Performance

At the heart of the new RS sits the proven 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged TSI engine (EA888 series), the same unit that powers the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Skoda Kodiaq RS. It delivers a robust 265hp and 370Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox.

Performance figures are equally impressive:

This makes the Octavia RS one of the most engaging sedans enthusiasts will be able to buy in India.

Design and Features

Unveiled earlier this year at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, the fourth-gen Octavia RS carries a sharper, sportier stance while retaining the practicality that has always made the Octavia a popular nameplate. Aggressive bumpers, larger wheels, and subtle RS badging distinguish it from the standard sedan.

Price Expectations

Being a full import, the Octavia RS is not expected to come cheap. Sources indicate Skoda is likely to align the pricing close to that of the Golf GTI, which retails for Rs 50.91 lakh (ex-showroom). This means we can expect the Octavia RS to carry a price tag of around Rs 51 lakh.

The Enthusiast’s Choice

With its blend of performance, everyday usability, and limited availability, the 2025 Octavia RS is poised to be a collector’s favourite. It promises to deliver hot-hatch thrills in a practical sedan package, making it one of the most exciting launches of the year for Indian car enthusiasts.
