Royal Enfield Classic 350: 2024 Model vs. Previous Version

Royal Enfield Classic 350 2024 Model vs. Previous Version

Royal Enfield recently introduced the 2024 Classic 350 in India, featuring significant updates in design and features, although the mechanical aspects remain unchanged. Let’s explore how the latest model compares to the older version.

Updated Features: New vs. Old

The 2024 Classic 350 boasts several modern upgrades, particularly in its lighting setup. The new model now includes LED lighting across the headlamp, pilot lights, taillight, and turn indicators, mirroring the design seen on Royal Enfield’s Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 models. Additionally, the latest Classic 350 offers adjustable brake and clutch levers, a USB-C charging port, and a gear-position indicator. These new features, however, are primarily available in the top-spec variants of the motorcycle.

Customization and Color Options

The new Classic 350 introduces seven fresh color options: Jodhpur Blue, Emerald, Madras Red, Commando Sand, Medallion Bronze, Sand Grey, and Stealth Black. Royal Enfield has also rolled out a factory customization program, allowing customers to personalize their bikes by choosing from various colors, stickers, seat fabrics, and badges. This customization process requires customers to book appointments with Royal Enfield’s industrial designers.

Engine and Performance

Mechanically, the 2024 Classic 350 remains identical to its predecessor. It continues to be powered by the same 349cc single-cylinder engine, producing 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The air/oil-cooled engine is coupled with a five-speed gearbox, maintaining the same performance and the iconic Royal Enfield “thump.” The suspension setup, with telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, also carries over unchanged. Lower-tier variants come with a disc/drum brake configuration and single-channel ABS, while higher-end versions feature disc brakes on both wheels with dual-channel ABS for enhanced braking.

Pricing Expectations

The official launch of the 2024 Classic 350 is slated for September 1, 2024. While the exact pricing is yet to be announced, a slight increase is anticipated due to the added features and enhancements. Additionally, the cost of a customized Classic 350 through Royal Enfield’s factory program is expected to be higher than the standard versions, though the specific pricing details will become clearer after the launch.
