River Indie Gen 3 Debuts with Upgrades, First Delhi Store Opens

River Indie Gen 3 Debuts

Bengaluru-based EV startup River has unveiled the third-generation Indie electric scooter, bringing meaningful updates in tech, convenience, and rider assistance. Priced at ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), the Indie Gen 3 continues to focus on practicality while refining the overall user experience.

Key Upgrades in Indie Gen 3

The new Indie builds on its predecessor with several usability enhancements. It now comes with redesigned tyres for improved grip, a clearer and more informative display, and upgraded app connectivity that provides ride analytics, charging status in real time, and personalised data points. A hill-hold assist function has also been added, making stop-and-go traffic easier to manage.

Rider feedback has shaped subtle tweaks to the scooter’s dynamics, ensuring a more confident and responsive feel on the road.

Storage and Performance

Practicality remains a highlight. The Indie Gen 3 continues to offer an unmatched 43 litres of underseat storage, complemented by an additional 12 litres in the front glovebox. Buyers can choose from five dual-tone colour options with contrasting black details.

Under the skin, the scooter retains its 4kWh battery with a claimed 163km IDC range. The electric motor delivers 6.7kW peak power, enabling a top speed of 90kph. Charging from 0–80% takes around five hours, while braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends paired with a combined braking system (CBS).

River’s Growing Footprint

The Indie Gen 3 was launched at River’s first-ever showroom in Delhi, located in Rajouri Garden, which will serve as the company’s northern hub. With this addition, River now operates 34 outlets nationwide, spanning cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi, Coimbatore, Patna, and Hubli.

Looking ahead, the EV maker has ambitious expansion plans, aiming to establish 80 stores by March 2026. The next wave of outlets will cover Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, strengthening River’s presence across northern and central India.
