Range Rover House has arrived in India, bringing an exclusive, modern luxury experience that caters to the tastes and desires of the region’s discerning and affluent clientele. Making its debut in the luxurious coastal town of Alibaug, Range Rover House India showcases the first Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles to be produced locally, exclusively for the Indian market.
With growing demand in India for Range Rover’s luxurious SUVs, the elegant Range Rover and the dynamic Range Rover Sport will now be manufactured in Pune. This move aims to reduce wait times and enhance the luxury client journey in India.
India will be the first country to locally manufacture Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, joining the locally produced Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Evoque, Jaguar F-PACE, and Discovery Sport at JLR’s facility in Pune. This local production will complement the global production in Solihull, UK, which remains the home for Range Rover’s upcoming fully-electric model and pinnacle ‘SV’ vehicles.
Lennard Hoornik, Chief Commercial Officer of JLR, remarked, “India’s steady economic growth has opened tremendous opportunities to localize our offerings for the discerning Indian clientele. Local manufacturing of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport is a significant step towards consolidating our position as the most desirable modern luxury SUV family in India.”
Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director of Range Rover, highlighted the unprecedented global demand for Range Rover, with retail sales in India for FY24 alone surging by 160%. She noted that local manufacturing will help meet the growing demand among India’s discerning clients and celebrated personalities.
Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, stated, “This is a proud moment for us in India as we become the first country to locally manufacture the iconic Range Rover. This achievement reflects the high-quality standards of local manufacturing in India, meeting JLR’s global standards.”
