Piaggio celebrates 25 years in India with 2023 Vespa and Aprilia launches

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) has been doing business in India for 25 years. To mark the event, Piaggio Vehicles announced a bunch of new products for the Vespa and Aprilia scooters. The management also said that the Group’s top racing motorcycle brand, Aprilia, will enter the performance motorcycle market in India.

The company says that the new scooters they plan to sell in India are made to meet the different riding conditions and needs of Indians, as well as to show scooters beyond the commuter segment, such as Touring, Cruising, Luxury, Racing, etc.

All Aprilia scooters will now come with a new engine that will make them go faster and handle hills better. The Aprilia Typhoon, a racing-style scooter, will be added to the Aprilia SR line of scooters.

There will be new products in the Aprilia SXR line of maxi-scooters. Also, Aprilia will move into the mid-size motorcycle market this year with the release of the RS 440. This will be the smallest displacement motorcycle in India, competing with bikes like the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.

In India, the new Vespa Touring edition will be added to the Vespa scooter line-up, which will also be updated. This year, new colour schemes will be added to the existing range of Vespa.

“I’m proud to say that all of our two-wheelers now come with a technologically advanced i-get engine. This engine is tuned to give 125-cc and 160-cc products a significant advantage in acceleration and is fully OBD II compliant. Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, said, “As we continue to grow and lead the way in India’s mobility, we see a huge opportunity to bring in more of Piaggio’s best-selling models from around the world.”
