According to a statement from the firm, OLA Electric, India’s top producer of electric vehicles, has offered to replace the S1 scooters’ new front fork for free.
The front fork design has recently undergone an upgrade as part of the company’s ongoing engineering and design improvement process to “increase the durability and strength even further.”
one of the world’s largest ride-hailing industries Ola has come under fire recently for instances of S1 scooters’ front suspensions breaking.
On March 14, Ola Electric stated on Twitter that “some community concerns have been raised regarding the safety of the front fork arm. We can tell you this is untrue.
Ola Electric stated that it is “offering our consumers the option to upgrade to the new front fork” in order to allay any worries.
Customers will be able to arrange an appointment at their nearby Ola Experience Center or Service Center beginning on March 22, promising a seamless and hassle-free experience. This upgrade will also be provided “free of charge.”
The largest mobility platform in India, Ola, had previously come under fire after an incident in which a rider suffered significant injuries after falling off an S1 scooter when it was traveling at about 35 kmph. According to reports, the suspension of the front wheel of the electric scooter Ola S1 has broken off.
However, Ola Electric stated in a statement at the time that “this was a case of a very high impact road accident” as a result of its preliminary examination into the recent occurrence and analysis.
Ola Electric reaffirmed this in their most recent release, stating that every part of their scooters, including the front fork arm, is “thoroughly tested under extreme situations and is engineered with a factor of safety considerably higher than the average loads seen on automobiles.”
With over 200,000 members, the Ola S1 community, which is a part of Mission Electric, has grown to become one of India’s largest EV communities in the past year.
