Hyundai is already working on the third-generation Creta, slated for an India launch in 2027. This follows the second-gen facelift introduced in early 2024.
What to Expect from the Next-Gen Hyundai Creta
Internally codenamed SX3, the upcoming Creta will be produced at Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu plant. While official details are still limited, the next-gen model is expected to retain its current engine lineup, which includes:
- 1.5L Petrol (115hp)
- 1.5L Turbo-Petrol (160hp)
- 1.5L Diesel (116hp)
These engines will likely be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.
Hybrid Powertrain on the Horizon
One of the most significant updates could be the introduction of a strong hybrid powertrain, making it Hyundai’s first hybrid offering in India. Expected to debut after the Hyundai Ni1i SUV (positioned between the Alcazar and Tucson), this hybrid setup will likely pair a 1.5L petrol engine with an electric motor for improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
In addition to mechanical upgrades, the third-gen Creta will also feature design enhancements, a more extensive feature list, and upgraded safety technology, aligning it with Hyundai’s latest global models.
Hyundai Creta Electric Facelift in 2027
Alongside the ICE model’s complete overhaul, the Hyundai Creta Electric—set to debut at Auto Expo 2025—will receive a mid-life facelift in 2027. While specific details remain under wraps, the refresh could bring:
- Updated exterior and interior styling
- More advanced technology and comfort features
- Potential improvements in range, thanks to larger batteries or better battery management
With Hyundai focusing on both electrification and hybridization, the Creta lineup in 2027 is set to offer more choices than ever, catering to a diverse range of buyers.
