Honda has unveiled the first teaser for the third-generation Amaze, giving a glimpse into the new design of the compact sedan ahead of its worldwide debut. Although specific details remain under wraps, it’s anticipated that Honda will open bookings for the revamped Amaze next month in advance of the official reveal.
What Does the Teaser Reveal About the New Honda Amaze?
The teaser showcases a portion of the new Amaze’s front profile, hinting at styling cues that echo Honda’s recent global models, such as the international version of the Civic. Notable design updates include slimmer headlamps with angular edges, expected to offer LED projector options on higher trims. The headlamp unit features LED daytime running lights integrated seamlessly into the redesigned grille. Above the headlamp and grille, a prominent chrome strip spans the vehicle’s width, adding to its bold aesthetic. The grille has been expanded to a larger hexagonal design with a honeycomb pattern, centering the Honda emblem. The bumper features sizeable air dams on each side, which may be accented with darkened inserts for a sportier look.
Further Insights on the New Honda Amaze
Spy shots captured during road tests over the past few months have indicated a more modern, streamlined design for the new Amaze, including slab-sided contours and smoked-finish tail lamps.
Under the hood, the Amaze will retain the familiar 1.2-liter petrol engine, available with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. Additionally, a CNG variant could be introduced to the lineup in the near future, expanding the model’s appeal.
Honda’s new Amaze is set to compete head-on with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which launches on November 11. Other competitors in the segment include the Hyundai Aura, as well as similarly priced subcompact SUVs like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Ahead of the new model’s launch, Honda has been boosting sales of the outgoing Amaze by offering discounts of up to Rs 1 lakh.
