Tata Tiago, Tigor AMT CNG
Tata Motors is set to launch the Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan, featuring an industry-first CNG-powered automatic variant. Both models will sport a 5-speed AMT paired with a 1.2-litre engine and are expected to include cruise control and hill-start assist. The Tiago iCNG AMT will be available in XTA, XZA+, and XZA NRG variants, while the Tigor iCNG AMT will come in XZA and XZA+ forms. Anticipate prices ranging from Rs 8 lakh to 10 lakh, ex-showroom.
Mahindra XUV300 Facelift
In the competitive compact SUV segment, Mahindra is gearing up to launch a significantly updated XUV300. Expect styling inspired by Mahindra’s BE lineup, including a more angular nose, redesigned LED DRLs, and a revamped tailgate with an LED light bar. Interior updates may feature a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a larger infotainment screen. Engine options, including a 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre turbo petrol, will continue with the addition of a 1.2-litre TGDI unit offering a 6-speed automatic. Prices are expected to see a nominal increase.
Hyundai Creta N Line
Hyundai is set to launch the sportier Creta N Line, the third N Line model in India, by March. Featuring design changes, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, and N Line-specific tweaks, the Creta N Line will also showcase an all-black interior with red highlights. Powered by a 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a DCT automatic gearbox, prices for the Creta N Line are expected to be slightly above Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom.
Maruti Swift
The highly popular Maruti Swift is getting its fourth generation, equipped with the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z Series engine. Manufacturing at Maruti’s Hansalpur plant is set to begin this month, with prices expected to marginally increase over the current model’s range of Rs 6 lakh to 8.9 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Tata Nexon iCNG
Tata’s compact SUV, the Nexon, will soon offer a CNG option. Displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, the Nexon iCNG will maintain similarities with its ICE-powered counterparts, with mechanical and cosmetic changes for CNG integration. Prices are expected to be approximately Rs 1 lakh higher than petrol-manual models.
Tata Curvv EV
Tata’s first launch of the year, the Curvv, will debut in EV form before the end of the financial year. Positioned as a rival to MG ZS EV and upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, the Curvv EV features an SUV-coupe design. While battery and range details are yet to be revealed, Tata aims to sell 12,000 units annually.
Mercedes GLB Facelift
Mercedes’ smaller seven-seat SUV, the GLB, is set for a facelift expected before the end of March 2024. Subtle cosmetic changes and minor cabin updates will be accompanied by feature enhancements and new interior upholstery options. Mechanically, the GLB will remain unchanged, with prices expected to rise compared to the current starting price of Rs 63.80 lakh, ex-showroom.
