MG Windsor Pro Set to Launch Tomorrow with Larger 52.9kWh Battery

MG Windsor Pro Set to Launch Tomorrow

MG Motor is gearing up to unveil the Windsor Pro, an upgraded version of its popular electric vehicle, tomorrow. Positioned above the standard Windsor, the new Pro variant brings a larger 52.9kWh battery, added tech features, and refreshed styling inside and out.

Key Highlights:

Bigger Battery, Longer Range

While the Windsor Pro retains the same 136hp and 200Nm front-wheel-drive powertrain as the current model, the jump from the existing 38kWh battery to 52.9kWh is expected to significantly boost its driving range. The current Windsor has an ARAI-claimed range of 332km, with real-world testing showing about 308km at an impressive efficiency of 8.1km/kWh. In comparison, the Tata Nexon EV, with a 45kWh battery, delivers around 350km but at slightly lower efficiency.

With the upgraded battery, the Windsor Pro could realistically achieve up to 400km in everyday driving conditions, making it more suitable for intercity travel.

Faster Charging, More Versatility

Charging performance is another strong point. In previous tests, the Windsor managed to recover 232km of range in just 35 minutes using a DC fast charger. With V2L and V2V capabilities now on board, the Pro variant also gains flexibility in powering external devices or even charging other EVs.

Feature Additions and Styling Tweaks

The Windsor Pro gets more than just a mechanical update. It introduces Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for added safety and convenience, and rolls out with a refreshed look including new alloy wheels and updated cabin materials. The interior now features a dual-tone black and beige leatherette trim, replacing the all-black finish of the standard Windsor.

Sales Success and Pricing Outlook

Since its debut in September 2024, the MG Windsor has quickly made its mark in India’s EV space. Over 19,000 units were sold by March 2025—averaging 2,700+ units per month—outpacing even the long-reigning Tata Nexon EV.

With the introduction of the Windsor Pro and its larger battery, MG is poised to further strengthen its hold on the EV market. While pricing is expected to rise above the current ₹14–16 lakh range, the added range and features could make it a compelling upgrade for EV buyers.
