True to its 100-year-old history The new Smart EV from MG Motor India will be called “Comet.” The company said that the name comes from the famous British plane from 1934 that took part in the England-Australia MacRobertson Air Race.
“Comet” is here at a time when driving in crowded cities is becoming a stressful job that needs quick, futuristic solutions because fuel prices are going up, there aren’t enough parking spots, and pollution is getting worse. Electric cars can help the environment, save money, and be more convenient and comfortable at the same time. In a press release, the company said that “Comet” takes this goal one step further by offering seamless mobility that is connected, automatic, electric, and shared.
“Urban mobility is at a turning point where new ideas are needed to solve both the problems that are happening now and the problems that will happen in the future. As we move further into the digital age, we’ll see a huge number of new things.
These could include futuristic technologies, unique designs, clean transportation, and many other things. Through Comet, we at MG plan to take the decisive steps and a “leap of faith” that are needed to create solutions for a better future for all of us. Rajeev Chaba, who runs MG Motor India as President and Managing Director, said.
In its current lineup, MG Motor India has cars like the Hector, which was named after a British fighter biplane from World War II that was built in the late 1930s. In the same way, Gloster is named after a British jet-engine plane that flew for the first time in 1941.
