MG Majestor Unveiled at Auto Expo 2025

MG Motor India took center stage at the Auto Expo 2025, unveiling the all-new Majestor SUV, an upgraded and more premium alternative to the Gloster. While both models will be sold alongside each other, the Majestor marks a significant evolution with its refreshed design, advanced features, and enhanced performance. Official launch details are yet to be announced, but the Majestor positions itself as a full-size, three-row SUV built on a ladder-frame platform, delivering a blend of luxury and ruggedness.

Distinctive Design Elements

The Majestor borrows its design inspiration from the globally available Maxus D90 SUV, sporting a bold, modern aesthetic. The front fascia features a large black grille with horizontal slats and a prominent MG badge. The split headlight setup includes slim LED daytime running lights on top and vertically aligned headlights below, adding a contemporary flair. A silver bash plate and sleek black cladding running the SUV’s length further enhance its muscular appearance.

Other highlights include diamond-cut 19-inch alloy wheels, chrome-accented running boards, and blacked-out elements such as the door handles and wing mirrors. At the rear, connected wraparound LED tail-lights give the Majestor a premium touch, while the chunky skid plate and dual exhausts share similarities with the Gloster’s design.

Luxurious and Feature-Packed Cabin

While the showcased model had tinted windows that concealed the interior, spy shots of the Majestor on test in India hint at a tech-forward, all-black cabin. Key interior features include a free-standing 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a fully digital customizable instrument cluster, and plush materials.

Expected equipment aligns with the Gloster’s already impressive list, including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and massaging power-adjustable seats, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, a premium 12-speaker audio system, and an electric tailgate. The Majestor is likely to go a step further with more advanced technology and comfort features.

In terms of safety, the Majestor could offer Level 2 ADAS capabilities, a 360-degree camera system, auto headlamps and wipers, tire pressure monitoring, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality.

Performance and Capability

The Majestor is expected to house the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine available on the Gloster’s top variants. This engine delivers 216hp and 479Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. While the default setup powers the rear wheels, a 4×4 drivetrain option will be available for off-road enthusiasts.

Pricing and Market Position

Positioned as a premium SUV, the Majestor is expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom). Its rivals in the Indian market include the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and Nissan X-Trail, offering a competitive mix of luxury, performance, and advanced features.

The MG Majestor promises to elevate the brand’s presence in the premium SUV segment, combining bold design, sophisticated technology, and robust performance.
