Mercedes-Benz India has launched the EQA, its most affordable electric car, priced at Rs 66 lakh. This new addition joins the company’s updated EV line-up, which includes the EQB 7-seater SUV, the larger EQE SUV, and the EQS sedan. Bookings for the EQA are now open, with deliveries set to begin in January 2025.

Exterior and Interior Highlights
- Design: The facelifted EQA, introduced last August, features crossover styling with a front grille panel showcasing Mercedes’ signature star pattern and a full-width light bar. The rear design takes inspiration from the EQB, and it comes standard with 19-inch ‘AMG’ alloys. Customers can choose from seven color options: Polar White, Cosmos Black, Mountain Grey, High-tech Silver, Spectral Blue, Patagonia Red Metallic, and Mountain Grey MAGNO.
- Interior: Inside, the EQA boasts a back-lit star pattern on the dashboard and door trim pieces, similar to the S-Class and EQS, with rose gold (or Titanium grey pearl) highlights on the upholstery and air vents. The standard Cupertino leatherette upholstery is complemented by a touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a digital driver’s display, heads-up display, augmented reality navigation, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with the latest MBUX OS, a 360-degree camera, and a 710W 12-speaker Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos. Safety features include seven airbags, blind spot monitoring, and ADAS features like active brake assist.
Powertrain and Performance
- Battery and Motor: The EQA is powered by a 70.5kWh battery pack, driving a front-mounted electric motor that produces 190hp and 385Nm of peak torque. The EV accelerates from 0-100kph in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 160kph.
- Range and Charging: It offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 560km on a single charge. The battery supports up to 100kW DC fast charging, which can charge from 10-80 percent in 35 minutes. Using a standard 11kW AC charger, a full charge takes 7 hours and 15 minutes.
Competition
The Mercedes EQA competes with other entry-level luxury electric SUVs, such as the Volvo XC40 Recharge, C40 Recharge, BMW iX1, and the Kia EV6.
