Though Maserati hasn’t made an official announcement, prices for its two latest convertible offerings in India—the MC20 Cielo and the GranCabrio Trofeo—have now surfaced. The stunning MC20 Cielo is priced at ₹5.31 crore, while the more grand touring-focused GranCabrio comes in at ₹3.40 crore (both ex-showroom, without optional extras).
Maserati MC20 Cielo: Open-Top Performance Meets Italian Flair
Launched three years ago, the MC20 Cielo marks Maserati’s return to the convertible segment following the discontinuation of the earlier GranCabrio in 2019. Under its sleek bodywork lies the same twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 engine found in the MC20 coupe, generating an impressive 630hp and 730Nm of torque.
Despite the added weight from the roof mechanism, the MC20 Cielo is only marginally slower than its coupe counterpart—accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in around 3 seconds (just 0.1 seconds behind the coupe), and achieving a top speed of over 320 km/h.
One of the Cielo’s standout features is its unique electrochromic glass roof, which spans 909mm in length and 615mm in width. This roof can open or close in just 12 seconds, adding a dramatic flourish to its already exotic persona. The overall weight of the Cielo tips the scales at 1,560kg, about 85kg heavier than the coupe.
Apart from its convertible roof, the Cielo shares its feature list, trim packages, and options with the MC20 coupe, which launched in India last year starting at ₹3.69 crore.
Maserati GranCabrio Trofeo: Grand Touring in Open-Air Style
The GranCabrio Trofeo is the drop-top sibling of the GranTurismo coupe and maintains the same luxurious 2+2 seating layout. It’s powered by Maserati’s well-known 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering 550hp and 650Nm—figures identical to those in the GranTurismo Trofeo.
Thanks to its performance-focused tuning, the GranCabrio accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 316 km/h. Its fabric soft-top can be raised or lowered in just 14 seconds, even while driving at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
Like its coupe counterpart, the convertible offers a wide range of customization options and high-end features. For reference, the GranTurismo coupe was introduced in India last year at ₹2.72 crore for the Modena trim and ₹2.90 crore for the Trofeo variant.
These two convertibles add further exclusivity to Maserati’s lineup in India, combining dramatic styling with exhilarating performance and Italian craftsmanship.
