The new Dzire competes with models like the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze—the latter is also expected to get an update soon. With its own distinct design, the Dzire is the first Maruti to achieve a 5-star Global NCAP crash test rating, reflecting its enhanced safety features and unique styling compared to the Swift.
Dimensions and Design Updates
Measuring 3,995mm in length, 1,735mm in width, and 1,525mm in height, the new Dzire is dimensionally similar to its predecessor except for a slight height increase. Its design takes a bold step away from the previous generation, with no resemblance to the Swift.
The front features a flat hood with sleek creases, Audi-inspired “Crystal Vision” headlamps with blacked-out surrounds, and a larger hexagonal grille accented with five horizontal slats and a piano black finish on the topmost panel. Along the sides, contoured doors and fenders add character, while the alloy wheels sport a new diamond-cut pattern in higher trims. The rear includes square-shaped LED tail lamps with a “3D Trinity” design and subtle refinements to the bumper.
Interior and Features
Inside, the new Dzire introduces a more premium look compared to the Swift, featuring a beige upholstery, a dark brown dashboard with faux wood, and silver accents. It’s equipped with Maruti’s 9-inch Smartplay Pro Plus touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with connected car technology.
For the first time, the Dzire offers a factory-fitted sunroof on higher variants, a unique feature in the compact sedan segment. Other enhancements include cruise control, rear AC vents, a rear center armrest, and a 360-degree camera.
Engine Specifications
The new Dzire is powered by Maruti’s 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine, delivering 82hp and 112Nm of torque, with options for a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. On CNG, the engine output is slightly lower at 69.75hp and 101.8Nm.
Safety Ratings and Features
Achieving a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection (AOP) and a 4-star rating for child occupant protection (COP) from Global NCAP, the new Dzire leads Maruti’s safety offerings. Standard safety features include six airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, three-point seatbelts for all seats, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
While the new Dzire replaces the previous model for private customers, the third-gen Dzire Tour will continue as a fleet vehicle.
