Global NCAP recently changed how they test cars, and in their most recent crash test, the Ignis only got one star. The body shell of the Ignis hatchback was found to be unstable and got a score of 0 stars for child safety.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis Adult Occupant Safety
Maruti Suzuki Ignis got a 1-star rating for the safety of adults, which means it got 16.48 out of 34 points. It gave the driver and front passenger good protection for their heads and necks.
But the chest protection for the driver was weak, while it was enough for the front passenger. In the most recent crash test, it was found that the driver’s knees and the right knee of the passenger are likely to hit dangerous parts of the car. In the side-impact test, the head and chest of the driver were not well protected by the Ignis.
Child Safety In Maruti Suzuki Ignis
The Ignis got a score of 3.86 out of 49 points, which is 0 stars, for child safety. In the most recent crash test, the Ignis was able to keep a 3-year-old old’s from getting hit in the front by a child seat. For the 18-month test, the Ignis was a good choice because it kept the test dummy’s head from being exposed.

The Ignis that GNCAP tested had two airbags, ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), seatbelt reminders, rear parking sensors, and seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters for the driver and front passenger.
