Mahindra has introduced the XUV700 Ebony Edition in India, with prices ranging from ₹19.64 lakh to ₹24.14 lakh (ex-showroom). While positioned as an all-black SUV, Mahindra emphasizes that the Ebony Edition isn’t entirely black, incorporating contrasting elements based on consumer feedback.
Pricing & Variants
The Ebony Edition is available exclusively in the top-spec AX7 and AX7 L variants, costing ₹15,000 more than their standard counterparts. The powertrain options remain unchanged, featuring:
- 2.0L turbo-petrol (200hp)
- 2.2L diesel (185hp)
- 6-speed manual & automatic transmission choices
However, this edition is offered only in front-wheel-drive (FWD) with a 7-seat layout.

AX7 L | – | ₹23.34L | ₹22.39L | ₹24.14L |
Exterior Updates
- Stealth Black Paint: A new glossy black shade exclusive to the Ebony Edition
- Blacked-out 18-inch Alloys: Retaining the standard design but finished in black
- Ebony Badging: Placed on the front fenders and tailgate
- Contrasting Silver Elements: Skid plates on the front and rear bumpers
With this addition, the XUV700 now offers eight monotone and five dual-tone color options.
Interior & Features
The cabin carries a black-themed leatherette upholstery with white stitching but avoids an all-black look through strategic contrasts, including:
- Light Grey Roof Liner – The most prominent contrast
- Silver Dashboard Accents – Found on the steering wheel and center console
- Dark Chrome Touches – On the steering-mounted controls and gear console
Safety & Tech
The Ebony Edition inherits the features of the AX7 and AX7 L trims:
- AX7 Highlights: Level 2 ADAS, 6-way powered driver’s seat with memory, dual-zone climate control, and auto headlights & wipers
- AX7 L Upgrades: Blind-spot monitor, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, electronic parking brake, and sequential LED rear indicators
A rear seatbelt reminder is now standard across the XUV700 lineup. Mahindra has also confirmed that this will be the last update for the XUV700, though further details remain undisclosed.
