Lamborghini Urus SE launched in India

Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus SE in India, priced at Rs 4.57 crore (ex-showroom). This new variant, now a plug-in hybrid, replaces the outgoing Performante and S versions. Alongside the hybrid powertrain, the Urus SE features updated exterior and interior designs, as well as enhanced technology and features.

Lamborghini Urus SE Powertrain and Specifications

The Urus SE is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, now paired with a plug-in hybrid system. The engine alone generates 620hp and 800Nm of torque, while the combined system output reaches 800hp and 950Nm. The hybrid setup includes a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery, and the electric motor is integrated within the 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The SUV offers an electric-only range of up to 60km and can operate in EV mode at speeds up to 130kph, after which the combustion engine automatically engages. Even in electric mode, the Urus SE maintains four-wheel drive capability. Lamborghini claims the Urus SE can accelerate from 0-100kph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 312kph.

Driving Modes and Suspension

In addition to the standard Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes for road and track use, and the Neve, Sabbia, and Terra modes for off-roading, the Urus SE introduces four new driving modes: EV Drive, Hybrid, Recharge, and Performance. The Recharge mode, available in Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Neve settings, allows the battery to be recharged up to 80 percent while maintaining optimal performance. The Performance mode is designed for both on-road and off-road conditions.

The Urus SE features air suspension, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, updated electronics, and 48V anti-roll bars to manage pitch, yaw, and lean.

Exterior and Interior Design

While the overall design remains recognizable, the Urus SE introduces several key updates. A new bonnet design extends to the nose, eliminating the traditional cut-off line for a more seamless appearance. The headlamps are slimmer and now incorporate LED matrix technology, departing from the previous Y-shaped LED signature. The front bumper and grille have also been redesigned for a more aggressive look.

At the rear, changes include a new spoiler, a redesigned tailgate with contrasting trim connecting the Y-shaped LED taillights, and a relocated registration plate to the bumper. The diffuser is larger and more prominent. The wheels are available in 21-, 22-, or 23-inch sizes, fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires.

Inside, the Urus SE features updated dashboard panels with a more three-dimensional look, revised AC vents, and new seats. A significant upgrade is the 12.3-inch central touchscreen, replacing the previous 10.1-inch unit, running the latest software and user interface seen in the Revuelto. The SUV offers extensive customization options, including over 100 exterior colors, 47 interior finishes, and further personalization through the Ad Personam program.
