KTM to Unveil 390 Adventure R, 390 Enduro R, and 390 SMC R at EICMA 2024

KTM to Unveil 390 Adventure

KTM is set to make a grand return to the EICMA motorcycle show after a five-year hiatus, bringing a thrilling lineup of new models. Among the most anticipated for the Indian market are the next-generation 390 Adventure R, 390 Enduro R, and 390 SMC R. Additionally, KTM’s larger models will see significant updates, with new offerings based on the 990 and 1390 platforms.

The 390 series has been generating buzz, with these off-road-focused bikes spotted testing in India over the past few months. Now, it’s confirmed that three models are on their way: the 390 Adventure R, a classic adventure bike; the 390 Enduro R, a road-legal dual-sport featuring 21/18-inch spoke wheels; and the 390 SMC R, a supermoto-inspired machine with minimal bodywork, resembling the Enduro.

These bikes will share the 399cc single-cylinder engine from the latest 390 Duke, producing 46hp and 39Nm of torque. Expect unique engine mapping and gearing for the Adventure and Enduro models to suit their distinct riding styles, while the SMC R will likely maintain a drivetrain similar to the Duke’s.

In KTM’s big-bike lineup, the 990 platform will expand with the 990 Duke R and the 990 RC R. The 990 Duke R will feature upgraded brakes and suspension for a more performance-oriented ride, while the 990 RC R marks KTM’s return to the large-capacity sportbike segment after nearly a decade.

The flagship 1390 series will also get exciting updates, including the 1390 Super Duke GT, 1390 Super Adventure S, 1390 Super Adventure S EVO, and 1390 Super Adventure R. All models will be powered by the 1390 Super Duke R engine, with chassis tweaks to match each bike’s unique character. Expect cutting-edge tech as well, with KTM debuting an all-new 8.8-inch TFT display, boasting what the company calls “vastly improved UX and UI.”

In a final exciting twist, KTM is set to unveil a new automatic manual transmission (AMT) at EICMA. This innovation eliminates the need for a physical clutch and gear lever, bringing KTM in line with other manufacturers experimenting with AMT systems. While details remain under wraps, KTM’s AMT debut promises to be a key highlight of the show.
