KTM has expanded the 160 Duke line-up in India with the launch of a new, feature-rich top-spec variant priced at Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The highlight of this update is the addition of a full-colour TFT instrument cluster, making the 160 Duke more competitive in the premium entry-level streetfighter segment.
KTM 160 Duke gets 390 Duke-style TFT display
The newly introduced variant borrows the same TFT dashboard seen on the larger KTM 390 Duke. This high-resolution screen offers two selectable display themes and significantly elevates the overall cockpit experience compared to the standard LCD unit. KTM has retained the familiar 4-way switchgear, ensuring easy navigation through the menu and connected features.
Connectivity features unchanged
Despite the new display, the feature list remains largely the same. The TFT dash supports Bluetooth connectivity and pairs with the KTM app to enable music control, call notifications, and turn-by-turn navigation. These features make daily commuting and longer rides more convenient, especially for tech-savvy riders.
Base variant continues alongside
KTM will continue to sell the base 160 Duke variant with the LCD instrument cluster. Priced at Rs 1.71 lakh, it now sits Rs 7,000 below the TFT-equipped version, giving buyers the option to choose based on budget and feature preference.
Stronger positioning against rivals
The KTM 160 Duke was introduced earlier this year as a replacement for the 125 Duke and as the brand’s new entry point into the Duke family. With similar displacement and performance to the Yamaha MT-15, the 160 Duke already had a strong mechanical advantage. However, Yamaha recently updated the MT-15 with a TFT display, briefly giving it a features edge.
With the launch of the TFT variant, KTM has effectively closed that gap. While the 160 Duke is around Rs 13,000 more expensive than the MT-15 TFT version, it offers a larger 5-inch, higher-resolution display with sharper graphics, compared to the Yamaha’s smaller 4.2-inch unit.
