Kia’s latest compact SUV, the Syros, has received an overwhelming response, surpassing 20,000 bookings since pre-orders opened on January 3. The company has revealed that 67% of buyers have chosen the turbo-petrol variants, while 46% of total bookings are for the higher-end trims. The ex-showroom price of the Syros ranges from ₹9 lakh to ₹17.80 lakh.
Kia Syros Bookings Breakdown
- Petrol vs Diesel Preference: The turbo-petrol engine is the preferred choice, capturing 67% of the total bookings, while the remaining 33% have opted for the diesel variant. Given the rising demand for petrol-powered compact SUVs, this trend is unsurprising.
- Automatic Transmission Demand: About 38% of customers have chosen the automatic variants, including the 7-speed DCT (petrol) and 6-speed torque converter (diesel) options.
Kia Syros Popular Variants and Colors
- Top Variants in Demand: Kia reports that 46% of bookings are for the HTX and higher trims, with 18% opting for the HTX+(O), which comes equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Most Preferred Colors: The Aurora Black Pearl and Frost Blue shades have emerged as the most popular choices, accounting for 26% and 20% of total bookings, respectively.
Kia Syros Engine and Transmission Options
The Syros is available with two engine choices:
- 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (120hp, 172Nm)
- 1.5-litre diesel (116hp, 250Nm)
Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. However, buyers can opt for a 7-speed DCT with the petrol engine or a 6-speed automatic torque converter with the diesel.
