Kia has taken the wraps off the GT performance versions of its EV3, EV4 and EV5 at the Brussels Motor Show, underlining its growing focus on sporty electric vehicles. These new GT derivatives sit above the standard models and join the brand’s existing high-performance EVs – the Kia EV6 GT and Kia EV9 GT.
The GT badge brings more than just added power. Kia has introduced comprehensive upgrades covering powertrains, chassis hardware, suspension technology and interior design, reinforcing its claim that GT models are engineered as full performance packages rather than simple power boosts.
Kia EV3 GT and EV4 GT: Powertrain and Performance
Both the Kia EV3 GT and Kia EV4 GT are based on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform and retain the long-range battery architecture of their standard counterparts.
Key highlights include:
-
81.2kWh battery pack
-
Dual-motor AWD setup
-
Combined output: ~292hp
-
0–100kph: 5.7 seconds (EV3 GT), 5.6 seconds (EV4 GT)
Power is split between a 197hp front motor and a 95hp rear motor, delivering brisk acceleration and enhanced traction.
Chassis, Driving Tech and Interior Upgrades
Beyond straight-line performance, Kia has focused heavily on driving engagement. The EV3 GT and EV4 GT receive:
-
Bespoke chassis tuning
-
Electronically adjustable dampers
-
Improved cornering stability
-
High-performance tyres on 20-inch alloy wheels
Both models also introduce virtual gearshifts, similar to those seen on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, along with a dedicated GT drive mode that sharpens steering, throttle response and suspension behaviour.
Inside, the cabins get sporty bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the EV6 GT, and distinctive neon-green accents, clearly setting them apart from the regular variants.

Kia EV5 GT: More Power and Smart Suspension Tech
The Kia EV5 GT sits at the top of this new GT trio. It uses a dual-motor AWD configuration producing 298hp, which is around 83hp more than the standard EV5. The sprint from 0–100kph is completed in a claimed 6.2 seconds.
While Kia hasn’t officially confirmed battery capacity, the EV5 GT is expected to use the 88.1kWh battery pack available on the regular EV5.
What truly sets it apart is its advanced suspension system. The EV5 GT features:
-
Performance-focused chassis tuning
-
Electrically adjustable dampers
-
A road preview system that proactively adapts suspension settings based on upcoming bumps and curves
The interior mirrors the sportier theme with GT-specific seats, neon-green highlights, ambient lighting and a performance-oriented steering wheel.
Production Timeline and Market Plans
Production of the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with initial sales planned for Europe. Kia has confirmed that these models are not limited-run specials but part of a long-term strategy to expand its GT sub-brand across the EV portfolio.
Speaking about the philosophy behind the GT range, Kia Europe executives emphasised that GT models are designed to deliver a complete performance experience — combining power, hardware upgrades and everyday usability.
India Launch: What to Expect
For now, an Indian launch for these GT models hasn’t been confirmed. However, Kia has reportedly filed multiple EV nameplate trademarks in India, hinting at future plans. Separately, Kia is expected to introduce the Syros EV in India in Q2 2026, which could act as a stepping stone for more advanced electric offerings later on.
Bottom Line
With the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT, Kia is clearly positioning its GT badge as a core pillar of its electric future. By blending strong performance figures with advanced suspension tech and distinctive styling, Kia is aiming to make its sporty EVs as engaging to drive as they are practical to own.
