Kia EV6 Facelift Unveiled at Auto Expo 2025

Kia EV6 Facelift Unveiled at Auto Expo 2025

Kia has officially revealed the facelifted version of the EV6 at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Delhi. Like its predecessor, the updated EV6 will be available in two GT-Line variants: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). Along with refreshed styling and additional features, the EV6 facelift also comes with significant mechanical upgrades. Bookings for the electric vehicle have already begun, with a launch slated for March 2025.

Battery, Range, and Charging Improvements

The EV6 facelift continues to be built on Kia’s E-GMP platform but now boasts a larger, more energy-dense 84kWh battery pack (up from 77.4kWh). This updated battery powers two motors, generating a combined output of 325 horsepower and 605Nm of torque, ensuring a robust all-wheel drive system. Kia claims the EV6 facelift will deliver an impressive range of over 650 km on a single charge.

Charging capabilities have also seen improvements, with the EV6 now supporting 350kW fast charging. This allows for a rapid charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, making it more convenient for long-distance travel.

Design Tweaks and Dimensions

While the overall dimensions remain the same—4,695mm in length, 1,890mm in width, 1,550mm in height, and a 2,900mm wheelbase—the EV6 facelift features subtle design changes. The Daytime Running Lamps have been reshaped into nearly triangular units that integrate with the signature Star Map lighting. The front bumper has been refined, now sporting a sharper look and eliminating chrome elements for a more modern appearance.

Exclusive to the GT-Line variant, the new 19-inch machined alloy wheels and body-colored side cladding add a touch of elegance. At the rear, the tail-lights and bumper have been subtly reprofiled, completing the facelift’s exterior changes.

Interior Enhancements and Advanced Features

Inside, the EV6 facelift retains its sleek dual 12.3-inch curved displays for instrumentation and infotainment. New features include a two-spoke steering wheel with the updated Kia logo and a fingerprint sensor for keyless driver recognition, allowing a more secure and convenient entry and start.

The cabin is also enhanced with an improved head-up display (HUD), a digital rear-view mirror, and AI-based navigation support—features borrowed from the Genesis lineup. A digital key, wireless charging, ambient lighting, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates further improve the driving experience.

Safety Features and Ratings

The EV6 continues to come with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including forward, rear, and blind-spot avoidance assists, as well as front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. While the facelifted version hasn’t been crash-tested yet, the pre-facelift model earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating in 2022, underscoring its safety credentials.

Kia’s facelifted EV6 brings cutting-edge tech, enhanced performance, and a refined design, setting a new standard for electric vehicles in the premium SUV segment.
