Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX Launched in India at ₹13.49 Lakh

Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX Launched

Kawasaki India has officially launched the new Ninja 1100SX, priced at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This highly anticipated model, which we had previously reported would debut this month, is now available in its standard variant across the country.

Key Upgrades Over Ninja 1000SX

The Ninja 1100SX is powered by a 1,099cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that delivers 136hp at 9,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 7,600rpm. While it produces 6hp less than the outgoing Ninja 1000SX, torque has been increased by 2Nm, ensuring a more robust performance profile. Additionally, Kawasaki has refined the bike’s gearing, with longer 5th and 6th gear ratios aimed at enhancing highway cruising efficiency and fuel economy.

Chassis and Features

The new model retains most of the Ninja 1000SX’s chassis components, with the only notable difference being a slightly larger rear disc brake (increased by 10mm). The comprehensive electronics package—featuring power modes, riding modes, traction control, a bidirectional quick-shifter, and cruise control—has been carried over as well, maintaining its appeal for sport-touring enthusiasts.

Market Position

The Ninja 1000SX has long been a favorite among Indian riders for its blend of liter-class performance, touring comfort, and practicality. With the Ninja 1100SX, Kawasaki builds on that foundation. However, the more advanced SE variant, equipped with Öhlins suspension and Brembo brakes, is yet to make its way to the Indian market.

In terms of competition, the Ninja 1100SX finds itself in a relatively niche position. Its closest rival is Triumph’s Tiger 900 GT, priced at ₹13.95 lakh, although the Triumph is more of an adventure-tourer.

Availability

Bookings for the Ninja 1100SX are now open at all authorized Kawasaki dealerships for a token amount of ₹50,000. Deliveries are set to commence in January 2025.

This new addition to Kawasaki’s lineup is expected to attract riders looking for a versatile sport-touring machine that balances performance with comfort.
