Hero MotoCorp: Market Leader Sees Mixed Trends
Hero MotoCorp maintained its position as the top-selling two-wheeler brand, despite a slight year-on-year dip of 2%. The company sold 4,12,378 units, marking an impressive 40.1% increase from December 2024’s 2,94,152 units. Hero made a strong impact at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, unveiling several new models, including the Xpulse 210, Xoom 160, Xoom 125, and the all-new Xtreme 250R.
Honda: Closing the Gap on Hero
Honda is rapidly gaining ground on its biggest competitor, with sales reaching 4,02,977 units—a 48.7% jump from December’s 2,70,919 units and a 5.35% rise year-on-year. The brand introduced multiple new offerings, including the CBR650R and CB650R in the middleweight segment and its first-ever electric scooters, the Activa e: and QC1.
TVS: Solid Growth with Innovation
Securing the third spot, TVS posted sales of 2,93,860 units, reflecting a 36.6% increase over December’s 2,15,075 units and a 9.55% rise from January 2024. TVS generated buzz at its MotoSoul 2025 event by unveiling the RTX-D4 engine, which will power its upcoming adventure motorcycle. The brand also showcased its first CNG-powered scooter, the Jupiter CNG.
Bajaj: Growth Over December, But Yearly Decline
Bajaj sold 1,71,299 units, marking a 33.4% improvement over December 2024’s 1,28,335 units. However, it faced an 11.4% decline compared to January 2024 (1,93,350 units). Bajaj’s Chetak EV continued its success, recently surpassing the Ola S1 as the best-selling electric scooter. The company also introduced the Freedom 125, the world’s first CNG two-wheeler, which has seen promising sales.
Suzuki: Steady Performance and New Launches
Suzuki recorded 87,834 units in sales, reflecting an 11.4% increase over December and a 9.09% year-on-year rise. The brand made waves at Auto Expo 2025, unveiling the Suzuki SF 250 Flex Fuel and the E-Access, alongside an upgraded Access 125.
Royal Enfield: Strong Growth with New Launches
Royal Enfield crossed the 80,000-unit mark, selling 81,052 units, a 19.3% increase over December’s 67,891 units and a 14.8% rise from January 2024. The brand recently launched the Scram 440, which was first revealed in November 2024.
