Hyundai Venue Achieves 6 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone in India

The Hyundai Venue compact SUV has reached a remarkable milestone, surpassing 6,00,000 unit sales in the domestic market. Achieving this feat in under five and a half years since its May 2019 debut, the Venue solidifies its position as Hyundai’s second-best-selling SUV in India, trailing only the Creta, which has achieved over 1.13 million unit sales.

The Venue’s sales journey highlights its popularity. It hit the 50,000-unit mark in just six months after launch, reached 1,00,000 units within 15 months, and crossed 2,00,000 units by the 25th month. By November 2023, the Venue had achieved half a million sales, and within a year, it surpassed the 6,00,000-unit milestone.

A closer look at its sales performance reveals that FY2024 was the Venue’s strongest year yet, with 1,28,897 units sold—an 8% growth over FY2023’s 1,20,653 units. However, sales between April and October 2024 stood at 67,422 units, reflecting a 12% year-on-year decline compared to 76,956 units during the same period in 2023.

Next-Generation Venue Set for 2025 Launch

Hyundai is gearing up to launch the second-generation Venue, expected to debut globally in late 2025. This model will be the first to roll out from Hyundai’s Talegaon plant, acquired in 2023 from General Motors India. Production is slated to begin in October 2025.

While the new Venue is likely to retain its existing platform and powertrains, it will sport a redesigned exterior and additional features inspired by the updated Creta and Alcazar. Hyundai is also expected to keep the diesel engine option to cater to the demand in India’s rapidly growing compact SUV market.

With its strong sales track record and upcoming updates, the Venue is poised to remain a key player in Hyundai’s SUV lineup.
