Hyundai to Double Its CNG Lineup

Hyundai Motor India has announced an ambitious expansion plan for its CNG portfolio as part of its long-term growth strategy. During its recent Investors Day presentation, the automaker confirmed that it will introduce three new CNG-powered models by 2030, effectively doubling its current CNG lineup from three to six vehicles.

Hyundai’s Expanding CNG Vision for India

The Korean automaker is aiming for 20 percent of its total sales to come from CNG cars by FY2030, up from the current 13 percent share in FY2025. This move is part of Hyundai’s broader plan to launch 26 new models by the end of the decade, including all-new vehicles, facelifts, and alternate fuel variants.

At present, Hyundai offers CNG powertrains on three models:

All three use the brand’s 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine, tuned to produce 69hp and 95Nm when running on CNG, and paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
