Hyundai Creta Electric Bookings Open at ₹25,000

Hyundai Creta Electric Bookings Open

Hyundai India has officially opened bookings for the upcoming Creta Electric, requiring a token amount of ₹25,000. However, reservations for the base Executive trim are yet to begin. The Creta EV is set to make its debut on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

What Sets the Creta Electric Apart?

The Creta Electric retains the overall design language of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart but introduces EV-specific updates. These include a closed grille, active air flaps, and a redesigned skid plate. Additionally, the EV boasts aerodynamic alloy wheels, refreshed bumpers, and pixel-themed accents, aligning its aesthetics with Hyundai’s premium EVs like the Ioniq 5.

Inside, the Creta Electric draws inspiration from Hyundai’s international EV lineup. It features a steering wheel borrowed from the Kona EV and a drive mode selector from the Ioniq 5, offering Eco, Normal, and Sport modes. Key features carried over from the ICE model include dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera system, and ADAS functionality.

The EV will be available in five trims: Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium, and Excellence. Initially, bookings are open for the Smart (O) and Excellence variants, which come equipped with the larger battery pack. Customers can choose from 10 colour options, including dual-tone and matte finishes.

Performance and Battery Details

Hyundai offers the Creta Electric with two battery options:

The larger 51.3kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes using a 60kW DC fast charger, while a full charge via an AC wall box takes around 4 hours. The EV delivers impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, making it quicker than the Creta N Line DCT (8.9 seconds). It also supports single-pedal driving for added convenience.

Competition

The Hyundai Creta Electric will compete with models like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Maruti e-Vitara, and Mahindra BE 6.

Hyundai’s foray into the EV space with the Creta Electric promises to combine the versatility of a compact SUV with cutting-edge electric technology, setting a strong benchmark in its segment.
