Powertrains Comparison
The Hyundai Creta we evaluated is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT automatic transmission. This powertrain has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 17.7 kpl, with the manual version slightly lower at 17.4 kpl.
On the other hand, the Honda Elevate features a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. This engine is available with both a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT. The Elevate MT has an ARAI-certified mileage of 15.31 kpl, while the CVT variant we are focusing on has a certified efficiency of 16.92 kpl.
Real-World Fuel Efficiency
In practical driving conditions, the Hyundai Creta CVT outperforms the Honda Elevate CVT in fuel efficiency. Our tests showed the following results:

In city driving, the Hyundai Creta CVT achieved 10.3 kpl compared to the Honda Elevate CVT’s 8.6 kpl. On highways, the Creta returned 13.8 kpl, while the Elevate managed 13.1 kpl. Overall, the combined fuel efficiency was 12.05 kpl for the Creta and 10.85 kpl for the Elevate.
Thus, the Hyundai Creta CVT demonstrates superior real-world fuel efficiency compared to the Honda Elevate CVT, making it a more economical choice for both city and highway driving.
