Hyundai Creta 1.0 Flex-Fuel Concept Unveiled at Auto Expo 2025

Hyundai Creta 1.0 Flex-Fuel Concept Unveiled at Auto Expo 2025

Hyundai quietly revealed a unique addition to its lineup at the Auto Expo 2025—the Creta 1.0 Flex-Fuel variant. Positioned discreetly within the brand’s showcase, this version of the popular SUV is equipped to run on pure E100 ethanol, emphasizing Hyundai’s commitment to alternative fuels.

Shared DNA with Venue and i20

Under the hood, the Creta Flex-Fuel variant is powered by the familiar 1.0-litre GDI turbo petrol engine that delivers 120hp and 172Nm of torque—similar to the units in the Hyundai Venue and i20. However, this engine has been specially calibrated to operate seamlessly on ethanol without any petrol blend. Power is channeled through a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

A Nod to Global Markets and Future Readiness

Though this particular model is predominantly seen in South American markets, where ethanol is widely embraced, its presence at the Auto Expo serves a different purpose. Hyundai is using the platform to demonstrate its readiness to adapt flex-fuel technology for the Indian market.

Currently, the Creta is available in India with a robust lineup of powertrains, including petrol, diesel, and an electric variant. While there’s no official confirmation regarding the launch of the 1.0-litre turbo flex-fuel Creta in India, this showcase signals Hyundai’s proactive approach to exploring sustainable mobility solutions tailored to diverse global needs.
