Honda Unveils Electric Scooter and Bike Concepts at EICMA 2024

Honda has once again showcased a dynamic lineup of electric two-wheelers at this year’s EICMA, including a range of innovative electric scooter and bike concepts. Among these is the CUV e:, an electric scooter that’s nearing production and poised to expand Honda’s EV offerings.

Honda CUV e: Electric Scooter

The CUV e: is Honda’s second electric scooter, following the EM1 e: unveiled last year. Powered by two removable battery packs, this electric scooter offers a claimed range of over 70 kilometers per charge. Originally previewed at the Tokyo Motor Show, the CUV e: blends utility and tech with features such as a choice between a 5-inch or a 7-inch TFT display, the latter equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can select from three modes—standard, sport, and eco—and the scooter also includes a convenient reverse function.

Honda EV Fun Concept

The EV Fun concept represents Honda’s take on a sporty, electric naked bike with the power and performance comparable to a mid-sized internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle. Targeted for commercialization in 2025, this concept model features refined suspension and braking components, suggesting it’s well into development. The bike’s sleek, aggressive styling includes a single-sided swingarm, while its CCS2-compatible battery allows fast charging and provides a range of over 100 kilometers per charge. Notably, the headlight design may resonate with Indian riders as it resembles that of Ola’s Roadster electric bike series.

Honda EV Urban Concept

The EV Urban concept is Honda’s vision for a futuristic urban electric scooter. Although details about its powertrain and mechanics remain under wraps, its design hints at inspiration from high-end models like the BMW CE 04. Positioned as a longer-term project, the EV Urban concept suggests that Honda may be exploring premium electric mobility solutions for city dwellers in the future.

With these forward-looking electric models, Honda continues to push the boundaries of e-mobility, aiming to deliver innovative options for both city and recreational riders.
