Honda has showcased its new 0 Series prototypes, including an SUV and a sedan, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas. These models mark the debut of Honda’s next-generation EV lineup, with seven vehicles planned on an all-new platform. The SUV and sedan will first launch in North America next year, followed by introductions in markets such as Europe.
Honda 0 Series SUV
Inspired by the “Space Hub” concept unveiled at CES 2024, the 0 Series SUV prioritizes interior spaciousness with its upright windscreen design and boxy rear reminiscent of an MPV. While technical specifications remain under wraps, the prototype hints at a more compact form factor than the sedan.
Honda 0 Series Sedan
The sedan closely resembles the concept revealed at CES 2024, featuring a sleek and aerodynamic design both inside and out. Built on Honda’s innovative EV platform, it boasts a thinner battery design—approximately 8mm slimmer than competitors’—enhancing cabin space.
The sedan will be available with an 80-90kWh NMC battery, offering an estimated range exceeding 482 km. A larger 100kWh battery variant is also expected, providing more options for long-range driving.
ASIMO OS and Advanced Driver Assistance
Honda has introduced its proprietary ASIMO OS, a nod to its iconic humanoid robot, to power the 0 Series EVs. This operating system integrates key vehicle functions, including autonomous driving, driver assistance, and infotainment. It also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, ensuring vehicles remain up to date with the latest features.
The 0 Series lineup will feature Level 3 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enabling hands-off driving in specific scenarios. This builds on Honda’s experience with Level 3 ADAS in its Legend model.
Performance and Powertrains
All 0 Series vehicles will offer both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations, powered by compact e-axle motors. Entry-level models will deliver 244 horsepower via a rear-mounted motor, while high-performance variants will produce up to 488 horsepower with dual-motor AWD systems.
With the 0 Series, Honda aims to combine cutting-edge technology, enhanced practicality, and advanced performance, paving the way for the next generation of electric mobility.
