Gurugram-based motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has unveiled its latest adventure tourer, the Himalayan 450, set to replace the outgoing Himalayan 411 model in the global lineup. The launch took place at the Motoverse 2023 event held in Goa.
Variants and Colors
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be available in three variants: Base, Pass, and Summit. The Base variant is presented in the distinctive Kaza Brown color, while the Pass variant offers a choice between Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue colors. The Summit variant, the top-of-the-line model, is available in Kamit White and Hanle Black color options.
Pricing
The ex-showroom prices for the Himalayan 450 start at ₹2.69 lakh for the Base variant, ₹2.74 lakh for the Pass variant, ₹2.79 lakh for the Summit in Kamet White, and ₹2.84 lakh for the Summit in Hanle Black. These introductory prices are valid until December 31, with deliveries scheduled to commence at a later date.
Powertrain
The Himalayan 450 is equipped with the Sherpa 450 engine, a newly developed 450 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled powerplant—a first for Royal Enfield. This engine produces 39.4 bhp of peak power and 40 Nm of maximum torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
Features
The motorcycle boasts a comprehensive set of features, including an in-house all-digital center console featuring turn-by-turn navigation through Google Maps, Ride-By-Wire with two riding modes (Eco and Performance), switchable dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, a new joystick, and adjustable seat heights.
Rivals
Competing in the adventure touring segment, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will face off against formidable rivals such as the KTM 390 Adventure, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and Yezdi Adventure.
With its advanced features, powerful engine, and competitive pricing, the Himalayan 450 aims to establish itself as a strong contender in the adventure touring motorcycle market.
