Hero Xpulse 421 Design Patent Filed

Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch its most powerful adventure motorcycle yet, the Xpulse 421. Recently, the company filed a design patent for the model in India, signaling its serious intent in the competitive adventure motorcycle segment.

Hero Xpulse 421: What We Know So Far

The upcoming Xpulse 421 will be powered by a 421cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine paired with a six-speed gearbox. Designed to tackle challenging terrain, the bike is equipped with a long-travel USD front fork and a rear mono-shock suspension system.

From the design sketches, the Xpulse 421 exudes a rugged adventure-ready aesthetic. Its taller frame houses a scooped single-piece seat, a flat headlamp unit with a high windscreen, and sharp radiator shrouds that add a dynamic touch. The design also incorporates practical elements like hand guards, a rear luggage rack, and a robust skid plate to enhance off-road capability.

Performance and Features

For braking, the Xpulse 421 is expected to feature a petal disc brake up front and a standard disc at the rear, mounted on spoked wheels shod with block-pattern tyres. The likely wheel configuration includes a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear, perfect for off-road adventures. The bike is also anticipated to sport an upswept exhaust, although the final design may see minor tweaks.

Positioning and Competition

Hero first teased the Xpulse 421 concept at EICMA 2024, showcasing its robust build and adventure-focused styling. While the production model may undergo some refinements, it is poised to rival heavyweights like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, the next-generation KTM 390 Adventure, and TVS’s upcoming Apache RTX, which is based on the new RTX-D4 platform.

With its promising specifications and purposeful design, the Hero Xpulse 421 is set to carve its space in the adventure motorcycle market, catering to enthusiasts seeking performance, durability, and style.
