Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch the all-new Destini 125 in India this December. The scooter, initially showcased in September 2024, impressed with its modern-retro aesthetics and upgraded features. While Hero revealed most of the details during the unveiling, the pricing remains under wraps until its official launch.
What’s New in the Hero Destini 125?
The redesigned Hero Destini 125 adopts a sleek and premium appearance, blending modern and retro styling elements. Its standout feature is an H-shaped LED DRL, complemented by a streamlined silhouette. The scooter will be available in three trims: VX, ZX, and ZX+, each offering distinct color options and feature sets.
Performance and Upgraded Underpinnings
Under the hood, the Destini 125 retains its reliable 124.6cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, delivering 9PS of power and 10.4Nm of torque. However, the real changes lie in its updated underpinnings:
- Braking: The ZX and ZX+ trims now feature a front disc brake, while the VX continues with a drum setup.
- Wheels: Larger 12-inch alloy wheels replace the previous 10-inch units, enhancing ride stability and aesthetics.
- Chassis and Wheelbase: A new chassis structure extends the wheelbase from 1245mm to 1302mm, contributing to improved handling and a more planted ride.
Feature-Rich Variants
The Hero Destini 125 introduces a host of modern features, tailored to each trim:
- Instrumentation:
- VX: Semi-digital cluster
- ZX & ZX+: Fully digital LCD cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, distance-to-empty display, and more.
- Lighting:
- LED projector headlight and taillight
- Self-cancelling turn indicators
- Additional Features:
- USB charging port in the front apron
- Boot lamp in the underseat storage
- Pillion backrest (available in ZX and ZX+ variants)
- External fuel filler cap for added convenience
- Wheels:
- VX: Cast alloy wheels
- ZX & ZX+: Diamond-cut alloy wheels
Expected Pricing and Competition
The Hero Destini 125 is expected to be priced at around ₹90,000 (ex-showroom). Positioned in the highly competitive 125cc scooter segment, it will take on established rivals like the Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Suzuki Access 125.
With its fresh design, enhanced underpinnings, and advanced features, the new Destini 125 is set to make a compelling case in the market. Stay tuned for its official launch this December!
