Ferrari’s First Electric Car to Debut on October 9

Ferrari is set to unveil its highly anticipated first electric vehicle (EV) on October 9, as part of its Capital Markets Day event. The announcement came during the Italian marque’s 2024 financial results presentation, where CEO Benedetto Vigna hinted at exciting developments but stopped short of revealing specifics. The EV will be among six new models Ferrari plans to launch this year.

What We Know About Ferrari’s First EV

While Ferrari has remained tight-lipped about details, early glimpses of the electric prototype surfaced last year when a camouflaged test mule was spotted in Maranello. Interestingly, it was disguised under a Maserati Levante SUV body shell, complete with fake exhausts, leaving enthusiasts guessing about its final design.

Ferrari confirms that the EV has already undergone extensive testing, covering thousands of kilometers. Vigna assured that the brand’s first electric model is being developed “the right way” to deliver the thrilling driving experience Ferrari buyers expect.

The EV will be built at Ferrari’s new E-building facility in Maranello, which has been designed to accommodate production for combustion, hybrid, and electric models. The Purosangue SUV will be the first to roll off the new line, with Ferrari’s EV set to join in 2026. In the long run, Ferrari plans to manufacture high-voltage batteries, electric motors, and axles in-house.

Ferrari’s 2025 Lineup: Six New Models Incoming

Beyond the EV, Ferrari has five additional new or special-edition models planned for 2025. Following the discontinuation of the Portofino M, SF90 Stradale, 812 Superfast, and Roma in 2024, the lineup is expected to include successors to the Roma and SF90. Meanwhile, deliveries of the brand’s new F80 hypercar are scheduled to begin in Q3 2025.

At its financial results conference, Ferrari also reported that hybrid models—the 296 and SF90 series—made up 51% of total shipments last year, with overall sales reaching 13,752 units worldwide. The brand’s revenue grew by 12%, reflecting continued strong demand.
