Citroen has introduced a special edition of its midsize SUV, the C3 Aircross, named the Dhoni Edition. Starting at Rs 11.82 lakh, this limited edition is available in several variants, including five- and seven-seat configurations, with both manual and automatic transmission options. The Dhoni Edition is capped at 100 units and features subtle enhancements over the standard C3 Aircross.
Key Features of the C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition
- Exterior Upgrades: The exterior showcases a new decal bearing cricketer MS Dhoni’s name and his iconic number 7.
- Interior Enhancements: Inside, it boasts color-coordinated seat covers, cushion pillows, seat belt cushions, illuminated door sills, and a front dash cam.
- Exclusive Goodie: Each unit includes a special ‘Dhoni goodie’ in the glove box, with one lucky owner receiving a glove signed by Dhoni himself.
Under the hood, the Dhoni Edition retains the 110hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine found in the standard C3 Aircross, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Comparison with Previous Collaborations
This isn’t the first instance of a famous cricketer collaborating with an automaker. In 2002, Fiat teamed up with Sachin Tendulkar to launch the Palio S10, a limited edition with only 500 units produced. Each car featured an aluminum plaque with its serial number, along with unique exterior and interior cosmetic updates, including Sachin’s autograph, an exclusive color, a rear spoiler, and new alloy wheels.
The Citroen C3 Aircross Dhoni Edition continues this tradition, combining distinctive design elements with the appeal of a celebrated sports icon.
