Classic Legends has officially revealed the production-ready BSA B65 Scrambler, two years after teasing a scrambler concept based on the Gold Star 650. This marks the second motorcycle launched under the revived BSA brand and introduces notable upgrades that align with the scrambler ethos.
What Sets the BSA B65 Apart?
The BSA B65 Scrambler builds on the Gold Star 650 platform but incorporates several design and mechanical updates tailored for off-road capability.
Mechanical Enhancements
- Larger Front Wheel: The front wheel grows from 18 inches to 19 inches, paired with the same 17-inch rear wheel.
- Dual-Purpose Tyres: Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres replace the retro Pirelli Phantom Sportcomp, offering improved grip across varied terrains. The front tyre is also wider for added stability.
- Suspension Upgrade (Unconfirmed): Though not confirmed, the longer travel suspension seems likely, enhancing its off-road credentials.
Design Updates
- High-Rise Front Fender: A hallmark of scrambler styling, this new fender adds to the bike’s rugged look.
- Redesigned Side Panels: With integrated number boards, these add a sporty touch.
- Slimmer Tail Section: A more compact tail design enhances the bike’s dynamic profile.
- New LED Headlamp & Display: A smaller round LED headlamp and a single-pod digital display align with modern expectations, borrowing cues from Jawa and Yezdi models.
- Compact Seat: The shorter seat features a slight rise at the rear, improving rider support during spirited riding.
Engine & Performance
The B65 Scrambler retains the Gold Star’s 652cc, single-cylinder engine, producing 45hp and 55Nm of torque. While the engine remains unchanged, the overall weight has increased slightly, now tipping the scales at 218kg.
Price & Competition
Set to launch in 2025, the BSA B65 Scrambler will rival the Royal Enfield Bear 650. Pricing is expected to be slightly above the Gold Star 650, which is currently priced between ₹3.00 lakh and ₹3.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
