BMW CE 02 Launched in India at ₹4.50 Lakh

BMW CE 02 Launched

BMW has introduced its CE 02 electric two-wheeler in India, priced at ₹4.50 lakh. Manufactured at TVS’s Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu, the CE 02 is among the most premium electric scooters available in the country, following its predecessor, the CE 04, which debuted earlier this year.

The CE 02 is powered by two 1.96kWh batteries, offering a combined capacity of 3.92kWh. It generates a peak output of 11kW (15hp) and 55Nm of torque, making it comparable to a 200cc motorcycle. Weighing 142kg, it produces performance figures similar to those of some 160cc sporty bikes. With a low seat height of 745mm, it is designed for city commuting and is accessible for shorter riders.

BMW claims the CE 02 can cover 108km on a full charge, with a top speed of 95kph. The Highline variant, which is currently on sale, comes with additional features like a gold anodized USD fork, teal accents, a tri-color seat, heated grips, and a smartphone holder. By connecting the scooter to BMW’s app, riders can use their smartphone as an extension of the 3.5-inch TFT display and manage inputs via the handlebar controls.

The CE 02 comes with two standard riding modes—Flow and Surf—with a third mode, Flash, available in the Highline pack. These modes adjust throttle response and regenerative braking, though they don’t drastically alter the riding dynamics. The scooter is currently offered in a single color, with optional accessories such as different luggage configurations and visors.

Though the CE 02 has no direct competitors in the Indian market, its price point places it alongside high-performance electric bikes like the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2, which offers more power at a lower price.
