Bajaj has launched the much-anticipated Freedom 125, the world’s first CNG motorcycle, with prices starting at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom India) and going up to Rs 1.10 lakh for the top variant. Here are the key details of this unique bike.

Performance and Features:
The Freedom 125 is equipped with a 125cc horizontally mounted single-cylinder engine, generating 9.5hp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm. It can seamlessly switch between CNG and petrol. The petrol tank has a capacity of 2 litres, while the CNG tank holds 2kg, with a fully filled CNG tank weighing 18kg. Bajaj claims a mileage of 102km per kg on CNG and 65kpl on petrol.
The bike’s CNG tank is secured in a trellis frame, providing extra protection. Weighing in at 149kg, the Freedom 125 is 18kg heavier than the CT125X. It features a 785mm-long single-piece seat, the longest in its segment, and a seat height of 825mm, 15mm higher than the CT125X. The suspension includes a telescopic fork at the front and a linked monoshock at the rear.
Design and Technology:
Bajaj has adopted a minimalist yet robust design for the Freedom 125, featuring a full LED headlight and tail-light, along with halogen indicators. The monochrome LCD instrument cluster supports Bluetooth connectivity. Both fuel tanks and the air filter are accessible via a large flap.
Variants and Availability:
The Freedom 125 comes in three variants: Disc LED, Drum LED, and Drum. It is available in seven dual-tone color options across these variants. Bookings are open at all Bajaj dealerships and on the company’s website.
Safety and Exports:
The motorcycle has successfully passed 11 safety tests, meeting industry standards and Bajaj’s own benchmarks. Bajaj plans to export the Freedom 125 to markets including Egypt, Tanzania, Colombia, Peru, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.
